The best cheap Windows tablet with Active Pen support is also the best ten-inch Windows tablet with Active Pen support. And that’s a Microsoft Surface Go two. You can get it with the Microsoft Surface Pen.

That is the same pen that’s being sold for the Surface Pro Seven. Here we’re getting a 10.5-inch full HD screen, and it’s a laminated one. It’s a pretty nice screen. This tablet makes a lot of sense if you want to write handwritten notes in Microsoft OneNote. Basically, this is a perfect one-note tablet, mostly for handwritten notes.

Sure, you can draw a bit with a tool, but the performance is a bit too weak for very demanding graphics apps like Photoshop. You can get it with an Interpension Gold 4425 Wi or with an Intercourse processor, which is quite a bit faster. Now we’re getting to mid-range ten-inch tablets that are pretty great for note-taking and so on. And here it’s a tie between the Apple iPad eight and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S Six Light, depending on what you need.

Let’s start with the Apple iPad eight. The iPad eight works with the first Apple Pencil, which is a great pen. Here we’re getting a 10.2-inch Retina display, which has one major downside. The screen is not eliminated. That means there’s a small air gap visible below the touch screen, and the result is that sometimes it looks like you’re not touching the screen directly with the pen.

Here we’re getting a ten-four-inch full HD screen, which again is fully laminated. It’s running Android ten. Of course, Preinstalled is the Samsung Notes app, and also the so-called Air commands, which give you a couple of gestures, which you can quickly start a new note, and so on. Of course, Android does not support standard Photoshop, so the performance is okay. It’s a mid-range tablet way below the iPad eight.

Next on the list is the Apple iPad Mini, and this is the best eight-inch tablet with an Active Pencil Port. It works with the Apple Pencil one again. And here we are getting a 7.9-inch Retina display, which, unlike the Apple eight, is fully laminated.

So that’s great. Of course, it’s running iPadOS, including all the standard features for the Apple Pencil, including the Scribble feature, of course, the Notes app. And you can use gestures just to quickly start a new note or to take screenshots or so. And you can install all the apps from the Apple App Store, of course, which again has a huge library of apps that are optimized for tablets and for the Pencil. The performance is way better than from the Samsung eight-inch tablet that I mentioned because here we’re getting an Apple twelve processor with 3GB of Ram and 64 to 256GB of internal storage, so you can also use it as a pretty good eight-inch gaming tablet.

6. Apple Ipad Air 4

Next up is the Apple iPad Air Four, which is the newest tablet on this list, and it’s the first one that works with the Apple Pencil, too, so it’s a second generation. The iPad Air Four has a 10.9-inch Retina display, which is fully laminated. Apple calls this a Liquid Retina display, so the resolution is very high. And again, unlike the iPad eight, this is laminated, which is one of the biggest selling points. Of course, it’s running iPadOS, just like the iPad Mini, including the Scribble feature.

It supports the Apple Notes app, of course, and here you can use Photoshop again, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator, and the performance is very strong, so you will be able to use super professional apps and work with huge files. Of course, it works with the Surface Pen, which again is the same one that also works with the Surface Go Two. And here we’re getting a 12.3-inch screen with a resolution of 27. 36 by 1824. Of course, the Surface Pro Seven runs Windows, and that is normal standard Windows, so you can use one note for handwritten notes. For example, there’s handwriting recognition built into the operating system, which is great, and the performance is good enough for full desktop-class, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and all those desktop-class apps that you can use on Windows.

Basically, this behaves just like any Windows PC. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S Seven and S Seven Plus are the best Android tablets you can buy right now, and with both, the Spen is included.
